Heat/stress/sunburn

As some of you know I had surgery back in May for a tumor inside my heart. I had a pericardial effusion and some a fib after the surgery. I have been following up with my cardio doc a lot. I feel fine for the most part but sometimes I am still getting out of rythmn. I have been having pvc's. Well my cardio doc put me on a treadmill a week ago just to see how I was doing. It went pretty well. I stayed on for 9 minutes and could have done a bit more. It got up to 3.4 miles per hour the last 3 minutes. My heart rate got up to 165+. He said I had a low normal threshold for exercise. He said he wanted to put me on a two week monitor which I put on last week. It malfunctioned on Friday so I did not wear it over the weekend while they are sending me a replacement.

Saturday my boys both had football games. I was out in the heat coaching for one of the games during the hottest part of the day. My heart rate got up and of course I got sunburned a bit. I never really felt out of rythmn. Then between games I was able to go home and cool off for a bit. When I came back for the later game I got slightly light headed walking in (just for a moment) and my HR was around 90. I drank some water and watched the oldest play without incedent. I went home and had dinner my hr was fine. I ate some icecream and then about an hour later I was out of rythmn with what I suspect to be either afib or pvc's for about 10-15 minutes. Not a high HR and my BP was fine but just not beating right. Do you guys have any ideas what might have caused this? the food/ sunburn/ heat/ stress of coaching?

Yes, all the above.

Good to see you are able to engage in activity with your children.  That is time worth spent even if it causes some irregular rhythm.

If you have some episodes of AFib I hope your doctor has you on at least an aspirin to reduce clot risk.  We may have discussed before, forgive me my poor memory please.

It is good you are getting a fuller examination through a long-term monitor, that should uncover any and all rhythm episodes... and point to what needs to be done, if any thing.

I am on asprin. I do agree that if all I have is a little irregular rythmn to do that wtih my kids it is worth it. I hope that this monitor tell the story. I am starting to think that it has a lot to do with my stomach. I think that stomach problems cause or contribute to my rythmn problems.
