Hi girls and thank you for your comments..
You know my problem not the LDL, means that my entire cholesterol remains under the normal everage but the HDL which is the good cholesterol is low for my age !!!
I know it could be better when we exercise .. but :)))) I hate it :)))
Rita,
I went on statins years ago, my family doctor, this was before I had a (several) cardiologist, put me on a statin (baycol as I recall which was then taken off of the market, I don't recall the reason, heart problems?). I responded well, dropped from a total 240 to 180 right off the bat. I used Lipator for years, but the cost encouraged me to me change to a zocor generic, same or better. My total runs around 150, sometimes lower, especially when I was still "running".
I strongly recommend statins for all who have the "liver" for it : >)
plenty of vit c a day will help with cholesterol and diet plays a massive role as well
Hi. I have exactly the same HDL. My cholesterol is awful and no matter what I try...stays that way. I am told it is hereditary and, if I want it down, I must start the statins. I am reluctant, but am thinking it might be time soon. You can try exercise and better eating habits, but if that doesn't work....it is medicine city.
As for your heart, what did the doctor say, first?
