Holter results! HELP

I just went and picked up a copy of my holter monitor results, I had the test done 2 years ago. At the bottom of the page this is what it reads, I'm freaked out.

Monitoring started at 8:52 am and continued for 27 hrs 41 mins. The average heart rate was 66BPM. The minimum heart rate was 44 BPM. The maximum heart rate was 133 BPM, occuring at 11:17 am.

The patients rhythm included 10 hrs 9 mins 28 sec of bradycardia. The slowes single episode of bradycardia occured at 12:14:23 am D1, lasting 6 mins 46 sec, with minimum heart rate of 44 BPM.

The patients rhythm included 7 min 15 sec of tachycardia. The fastest single episode of tachycardia occured at 11:17:54 am D2, lasting 11 sec, with maximum heart rate of 133 BPM.

Supraventricular ectopic activity consisted of 89 beats, of which, 14 were in atrial couplets, 21 were late beats, 54 were single PACs. The longest R-R interval was 1.5 seconds. The longest N-N interval was 1.5 seconds.

1) The patient was in normal sinus rhythm with rates ranging from 44 to 133 BPM.
2) There were no ventricular beats noted.
3) Supraventricular ectopic beats consisted of rare premature beats with episodes of Atrial Pairs and Late Beats noted.

What does all this mean, are the late, supraventricular, ectorpic, and atrial parts normal, are they dangerous? Should I be concerned about it? Please help!

Hi guy... first, I know you're freaked and I'm sorry.  I don't know what your all  your results mean, but you're not alone here.  Folks on this site are great and have or are walking in your shoes.  I've posted a few times but I have to rest now since I had an ablation 2 days ago.  I posted Belinda511 awhile ago & I would say the same to you.

Try to stay calm until you get some answers.  I know that's easier said than done, but here we all are!

It doesn't sound like your doctor is concerned about the "bradycardia" so I'm guessing that is not a problem.  It's not that unusual to have a lower HR during sleep (12:14 am). Did you doctor ever discuss the results with you?

As for the tachy, sometimes our heart rates increase because of exercise, stress, anxiety, etc.  Perhaps you were doing something at that time that resulted in a higher than avg HR.

Supraventricular ectopic activity (extra beats above the ventricles) - You had 89 of these beats and 14 of them were couplets.  A couplet is when you have 2 extra beats in a row, with no extra beats in between.  Fifty-four of the beats were single, or isolated beats.  I'm not sure what is meant by a "late beat".  The intervals are the time from one part of the heartbeat cycle to the same part of the next cycle.  That gets really complicated and your doctor could explain it much better than me.  Not sure if your numbers are siginificant, but it seems that your doctor would have mentioned it if he was concerned.

You had no ventricular ectopy.

As far as the ectopy, in a structurally normal heart, they are considered benign.  As for the bradycardia, just double check with your doctor, but I'll bet it's just fine.

Hi, I remember you from before as being the one with a prolonged QT on your ECG. I noticed that nowhere on your holter report does it mention the QT interval. Bradycardia along with a prolonged QT can cause problems. Have you asked to be seen by an Electrophysiologist to discuss your QT interval? Remember what I said before about doctors not paying close enough attention to a QT interval, if I remember correctly yours was somewhere around 460??? I hope you did mention this to your doctor. Also, are you very athletic? Because this can cause bradycardia in healthy people. But still please check out the QT interval.

"A couplet is when you have 2 extra beats in a row, with no extra beats in between."

I meant to say ....2 extra beats in a row, with no NORMAL beats in between....sorry.

BTW, I agree with dquenzer, looks pretty normal.  Try not to worry.
