Hoping the electrophysiologist can help...

Hi all,

I'm off to the electrophysiologist today and am hopeful that he will find a solution for these dreadful pvcs.  I am taking 25 mg of metoprolol 2 x a day and 120 mg of cardizem once a day.  I have been taking these for a month now and can't really tell a difference.  They might have lessened the frequency some but they seem so "pronounced" now that my heart rate is slower.  I also take 75 mg of effexor xr for the anxiety they are causing me.  Has anyone had good luck with these meds?  I had an ER visit 3 weeks ago due to a near syncope event and they gave me phos-nak as my phosphate and potassium levels were low.  Has anyone tried this?  It is available OTC and I thought it might be helpful.  Any information would be most appreciated.  I feel like my heart is just going to stop anytime and I'm so tired of being frightened. Please help...

Hey, not sure if you got my message or not---please check the information I sent you about some of the meds you are on and interactions. This is very important.

good luck on the appt; if you're having presyncope or syncope issues then they need to find out why - ask about a tilt table test to rule out any ANS (autonomic nervous system) problems

with them finding that potassium & phosphate low that could be a problem and you may benefit from taking what they suggested, certainly ask the EP when you go their thoughts and see if it helps

the only med that has helped me has been Inderal; but that's only a short term mild duration and doesn't help with everything
