Man .....thanks guys.....but you all have to realize its ALL of us as a community.....we all help each other so much...not just for all of you but me too...i have my moments and will click on and someone.....like you laneFortin will post something that makes my weariness go away knowing i am not the only one out here....and Debbier....you are also such an inspiration to others because of all of your success........and chaz1993.....you may not realize it right now but you are to become a very important part of this community because alot of people write here because they are worried and you have a great story to tell to everyone also because of what you are going thru just like i did in the beginning.....your age in this matter does not matter because if someone your age can get thru this you are an inspiration to all who post from young to old so when you see someone with worries over an upcoming ablation you seriously need to jump in about the procedure and what it did for you or even the nervousness you had after so that we support one another and share that we are not the only ones on this earth that is going thru this,,,the point is Chaz is that you are very in touch with your feelings and that is why you are here.....so pay it forward my friend just like everyone on this site does....and thank you believe it not you helped me too............

Your the best Cindy, You should be a writer or at least write a after your ablation handbook!  Everyone Cindy says is the truth, she talked me through the after ablation transition period.

Naw you are doing just fine explaining it....it makes sense what you are saying.  SVT can come either way...from birth you could have an underlying heart issue which sets off SVT or later in life it can also develop.....my doc explained something to me that really helped me out alot because alot of us that have had ablations in the beginning after the procedure have alot of emotional issues so i'll do my best to pass on to you what he told me and my doc is one of the best in the world and has recently surpassed doing over 3,000 ablations from what i am told with no fatalities.  Right before the ablation i think we all are worried that we are gonna die during the procedure because who wants anyone messing with our heart?  So we are nervous and worried that something will go wrong....then after the ablation we tend to get pretty quiet and look at things a little differently because we are a little shocked that we are still here...then for at least a couple of months after the procedure we are worried again because its like we sit and wait thinking that at any moment the SVT is gonna come back and we may even have a couple of little episodes and panic and run back to the doctor to be told we are fine and to give it time,,,,then we think we can feel absolutely everything like you are that happened during the ablation and that they screwed up somehow and things really aren't better and they aren't telling us the truth because some of the pain feels so real...then we run back to the doc again to be told that we have to give it at least a couple of months for the heart to go down from the swelling, from the pain where the catheter was put in, to occasional sharp pains in our chest, to the feeling like the SVT is gonna start up again and you swear it is but it isn't.  The best advice that i can give you is patience because as time goes on each day gets a little better with less feelings of the burning, less episodes of random pain, less times of feeling a funny feeling in your chest that its like its gonna happen all over again.  Each day you get better and better and better until the day comes when you are surprised that you didn't realize that it isn't happening anymore and you are shocked.  There is absolutely nothing to worry about...we have all been there and done that after the procedure....like my doc said we have to test out our new hearts and give it time to heal becaise it was poked, prodded and penetrated and in your case burned.  Just like a bruise on the outside of your body with time it all fades away and can take a few months to do this....try to go back to your life and with the okay of your doc try doing things you never would have thought of with the SVT...my doc told me to go to Starbucks and get a triple expresso (there was no way i would have even considered that before the ablation) i did it and was shocked nothing happened.  Then i started doing alot of physical stuff that i tested it and took it over the top and was fine.  Your doctor has to be the one to give you the okay with a test run but relax....time will take care of this and even tho you are remembering what happened what does it really matter now?  You are still here, hopefully your doc said yours was a success and like i said each day you will be better and better and better and in the end in 6 months what you are remembering will just be a fading memory that won't mean a thing because of what you gained....good luck we are all here for you.......

Hey,

I had SVT since for about 2 years berfre i had the ablation and i kept passing and going really pale and lethargic and nausea, the episode used to only happened every few weeks but it got worse and worse like everyday i had a 7 day holter on to record it but it never got anything so we didn't actually know it was SVT untill about 6 months ago.

Do you know if you have SVT from birth or does it develop?

I am having trouble getting over it if you know what i mean.. i remember the operation every little bit even when they took the wire catherder things out and when the burnt it and sometimes it still fells like it is burning.. i am having problems knowing  if the pain is real and something is wrong or if it is just in my head

Sorry i am really bad at explaining things.

Hey Chaz i read your post...i am a little confused here as to what it is you are asking advice about....i had an ablation a couple of years ago and also mine took hours and hours..they don't give you anesthesia during the procedure because they can't knock you out because during the mapping and procedure they need your heart to be as it normally is and not so relaxed......what you probably aren't aware of is that they give you "amnesia" medicine in your I.V. line so that you don't remember anything. So you are awake and not awake at the same time.  We  need you to be a little more specific about what it is that is bugging you so that we can answer your question correctly.........

COMMUNITY LEADER
It would be helpful (for others) to know how long ago, weeks or months..., also what was the Ablation for?

It would be helpful to know if there is some symptom or other problem that is troubling you.

There are many on this Community who have undergone Ablation.  Some with great success, others with problems... I'm sure you'll benefit the most it you can connect with those who can relate to your specific questions.
