I am really frightended .... Should I be aware of being paced?

Just another brief question  - I have a Medtronic ICD fitted - last week whist sitting down relaxing on Thursday evening  and on Friday day whilst shopping I was very briefly aware of being paced - should I be abke to feel this? Do I need to get the device checked?

I have a Medtronic (Secura) ICD too. I've had mine for about 8 months now and I remember feeling the pacing for the first couple of weeks. It was almost like a muscle twitch that I could feel around the ICD when I would relax. I'm paced most of the time and I don't feel a thing any more.
You should call your ICD clinic at least to mention this to them.
How have you been doing otherwise? Having an ICD is a big adjustment and there is emotional healing as well as physical. There is a wonderful ICD support group online at www.ICDsupportgroup.org that might help you adjust.
Take care

Sorry I can't help with some definitive experience, but I do respond to say it seems reasonable to me for you to talk with your doctor about any ICD experience that is new.
