My heart, and area around my heart feels weird.

Hello,

Around 2 weeks ago I had a bad experience using a legal herb called, Kronic. I am a casual smoker of other legal highs and cigarettes. After smoking a reasonably large amount of Kronic, my heart started racing uncontrollably, and I began to worry as my heart began to ache. I was scared enough to call an ambulance for help. When they arrived I had calmed down a bit and my heart rate had returned to normal, but the aching and twitching was still there. The ambulance staff took my heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar levels and found nothing out of the ordinary. They said I was probably having a bad trip and needed to wait it out. At this point I was content about my condition but over the next few days, my heart (the area around my heart) was still aching, twitching and sometimes stinging. I thought, at first, that this must be an after effect of the stressful experience I just had, so I ignored it. However, it has now been 2 weeks since the incident and my heart still aches, twitches and stings. Although I have been able to function fine I am worried that there is something serious at work. I did a little reseach and found that some people suffering from anxiety attacks have similar feelings in and around their heart. But I have never had an anxiety attack (apart from maybe when I called the ambulance) I am really worried about this at the moment, I am losing a lot of sleep. Please help me if you can. Thank you.

Kind regards,
George.

I hope that as you wait to get better, you are not using any "legal or illegal high" substances. As for Anxiety, it sounds like that is exactly what your are experiencing.  The old "chicken and egg" question.

It may be fine to try to calm down with an effort at optimism while you wait to talk with a Cardiologist (Heart Doctor).  If the condition continues the doctor may agree to put you on a heart monitor. But, if you have the symptoms while being examined and during an in-office electrocadiogram a wearable monitor my not be necessary.

Stay of all stimulants, including legal substances such as caffeine, in all forms.

Thank you for your reply. I have stopped smoking and taking caffeine. So you would recommend going to see a Cardiologist?
