Upcoming surgery - Asking for prayers

I haven't been on here in  a while.  I went to the ER with chest pain in mid April. No problem with my heart, but they found a spot on my lung.  After being scanned, scanned and scanned again, and a biopsy, they think neuroendocrine tumor -- good prognosis.  I will be going in for a lobectomy next week, Monday.  My afib will likely be an issue after the surgery, as about 25% of people end up with it after this surgery and go home on heart meds.  Since I have such a long history of it (11 years) it quite likely I will have it.  The doctor does not want to cardiovert right after surgery unless I am in danger.  Sounds like they may put me on Amioderone for a month or so, at which time I may then undergo a cardioversion.  I have done my homework as far as doctor, hospital, etc. So feeling as if I've done what I can and leave it up to the people who know what they are doing.  Still, if anyone has any input, or suggestions, I would be happy to hear it.

Delta, good for you!  I hope everything is going well!  I've gone 27 mo. without afib and it's wonderful.  I don't get on here too often but I'll be sure and check in and see how you are doing.  Again, so happy for you!

Keep in touch,
Linda

It sounds as though you and your docs have a grip on the situation, and that's just what everyone needs. I hope your surgery goes well and that you recover quickly and well.

Surgery is tomorrow a.m. (August 11) at 7:30 a.m.

Thanks all of you for the pep talk, it truly helps.  It never hurts to know there are friends wishing you well as one approaches any sort of medical procedure.

I will imagine your love and blessings following me into the operating room and surrounding me like a cloud.

Thank you all.

I am sorry to hear that.  I have had a couple of surgeries and they are scary and stressful but the good news is you will sleep right through it.  I wish you much love and success with the operation and a speedy bounce back.  As well gosh darn the afib should stay away.  Let us know when it is so I can send prayers your way that day.  (((HUGS)))

Sending my prayers and best wishes... I have no knowledge of the tumor problem you are diagnosed with.  I too believe put you trust in your doctors and supporting people and facilities - you will be okay, I believe it will all work out.  As for AFib, that I have some familiarity with and live with.  My heart rate is managed/controlled as is the case for many.  Hope you can get converted back to NSR.

God bless,
