It seems strange to me that you are having problems getting a diagnosis from a specialist.
I can relate to your son's physical build, I was 6'6" at my maximum (old age has taken about 1/2" off of that height). In high school I weighed about 150+ and did not go over 200 pounds until my late 20s and after I was married. I go about 250 now and need to lose weight... seems to never be right :)
Has your primary doctor not recommended any medication? Perhaps a low dose beta blocker. I take a high dose beta blocker to lower my heart rate.
Thanks Jerry- I have gone to Primary MD, and have been referred to a pediatric cardioilogist as he is 17 y/o. The ped MD said he was too tall and (6'4" and 150 lbs) to be at the Pediatric doctor. So the referral to adult cardio doc, he said he wasn't 18 years old yet, so he couldnt see him until then. I am a Nurse by profession, so I have experience in the field. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a great Heart Doc in this area, or any area for that matter. Im not from NC originally, and it seems the cardiologists here keep pushing him off to the next person. We have seen more doctors this year for my son, than I've seen in my life, and still no help. But thanks for your help.
This is a member/patient Community (forum) so it is unlikely your post will be read by a doctor. It does sound like you could benefit from a visit with a heart doctor, a cardiologist. There must be several in your area, listed in your "yellow pages"... or goggle the web for "cardiologist Roseboro".
Has your primary care doctor not made any recommendations? I know I went to my first cardiologist based on a recommendation from my primary care doctor.
