PVC Comment

I am convinced there is a list of things that "trigger PVCs" that is probably five times larger then the list of things that don't...the more I read and investigate, the more I realize that unfortunately there is likely no solution. I have had PVCs triggered by breathing, gas, leaning over, sleeping, bloating, anxiety, stress, etc etc etc...the list is endless, but ironically I really have no clue what the real triggers are...I just returned from a Caribbean vacation, totally relaxed and rested, and had episodes while sleeping, lying by the pool, and even while throwing a football with my son...I have been caffeine free for a month (now wondering why), taking magnesium, avoiding chocolate etc, but nothing stops the problem. I am starting to accept that PVC episodes are completely random, and if you are hypersensitive to them like I am, you will never be able to avoid them. Apathy may be the real cure - teaching your mind to "relax it will pass", rather then rush to the ER...Also, the busier your mind is, the less likely you are to feel them....If anyone has any other remedies, or other comments - feel free to share them! Best to all of you.

A crap shoot is right...if keep cutting things out of my diet, soon it will be water only...lol!! BTW - I had my first episode of a PVC followed by a faster heart rate for about 5 seconds...I was resting, and my pulse went double time (approx 60bpm to 120 bpm) for a brief moment...maybe 10 beats or so...then back to normal...never felt that before. Hasn't happened again that I know of. I spend so much time monitoring my pulse that I am bound to find irregularities...the sensation of PVCs is always hard to ignore, but I agree, if you aren't sleeping, exercise or indulging in an activity is a good distraction.

Been there, done that and relish the episode free hours/days when ever I can. " Trying to relax and let them pass" is great advice to give and put into practice , however, when you get down to it they sure feel like doom and gloom is around the corner.  I try to loose myself in a video game during the episodes.

For those of us with benign palpitations, without heart disease and a normal blood chemistry  all the "remedies" are essentially anecdotal and finding a common "trigger" is going to be a crap shoot.
