PVC's

I am a 44 year old female and I have been experiencing PVC's on a daily basis almost all day with no underlying cause to why I am having these.  I have had PVC's in the past that only occurred every once in a while but now these have been going on every day for the last couple of months.  I had a normal echocardiogram performed about 2.5 years ago and recently had a normal EKG performed that only showed tachycardia and PVC's but otherwise normal.  The only symptoms that I am having is the palpitations and fatigue.  I do not have chest pain or shortness of breath.  I don't have high blood pressure or diabetes.  I am healthy other than having the PVC's.  Any comments or answers you can give me?

I've experienced something similar. I am 28 and I've been having PVCs for about 4 years now. When it first started happening I had an echo and a stress test and was told that they were nothing to worry about. They seem to come and go. When it first started happening I would have long runs of bigeminy and it really freaked me out. Then it seemed to go away, more or less, for a couple of years (I only felt them occasionally, anyway, who knows how many I wasn't feeling). But lately they are back with a vengeance. I mentioned it to my PCP at my last check up and she assured me that unless I start getting dizzy I should just try and ignore them. I try but it's hard sometimes, as I'm sure you all know.

As long as you have a structurally normal heart, the PVCs are considered benign.  The do feel strange, but are not really medically significant unless they are very frequent (tens of thousands/day).  Good to hear you are not truly symptomatic.  It is possible the fatigue is from the PVCs, but could be from any number of things.  For some reason, those of us with PVCs seem to get them on and off, for every reason, no reason or just because....Some people are able to identify a trigger (caffeine, lack of sleep, epinephrine, cold medications, etc), but other people just get them.  Besides not smoking, we can limit (or eliminate) caffeine, eat well, get rest, and work at getting in some form of daily exercise.  All of those things are beneficial for our hearts and sometimes actually help to reduce or eliminate PVCs (a bonus!!).  : )  Take care.
