High Heart Rate

I have a constantly high heart rate (90-110) when doing normal activity (walking to class, etc.) I have not gotten an answer as to why? I am 21 yo male, athletic build (6' 2", 175lbs) body fat 11% and I work out everyday. I am trying to figure out how to lower my heart rate or at least a reason why it is so high.

I am honestly having the same thing going on with me. The other day walking to class my heart rate got up to 145 while just walking to class. Of course some of that could have been anxiety, and then I was just at the range hitting golf balls and it was consistently in the 140s and afterwords it felt like I had just run a 5K.

I am not sure there is anything wrong, but for some reason I think there is just like you. I don't think it had been like this before either, but I guess I never really checked it before either. I have had multiple tests back in the fall and they could not find anything wrong. I really think a lot of it has been anxiety, but obviously I don't believe that otherwise I wouldn't be surfing the internet looking for answers.

Thanks for the response, I guess my main concern is a higher heart rate (100+) even when I am resting and it seems a little unusual to me. In previous years my walking heart rate would be from 75-90.

Thanks for the response, I guess I should clarify. It has been around 100-110 even when sitting down. I tried to donate blood yesterday and my heart rate was 110 and I am not scared of needles, I have donated before. I am currently away from home at college and I'm just wondering if I should be seen by a doctor or not. Thanks again for the responses.

It's completely normal to have heart rates like this when walking and light/normal activity. In fact, if you didn't, it could be a reason to worry.

My heart rates are as follows:
Sleep: 50 (vary between 40 and 90)
Rest: 60 (vary between 50 and 70 dependent on worrying thoughts, anxiety, etc)
Sitting: 70 (may be as high as 110 if i'm anxious)
Standing: 80-90
Slow walking 80-110
Walking as exercise: 110-140
Exercise: 140-190

This is documented on a Holter monitor, and considered completely normal.

Don't worry about this! :)

Your heart rate doesn't strike me a too high.... depends on how fast you walk and it there are upgrades, stairs or other high load factors.

Are you saying your "walking HR" used to be lower?  How much lower?
