important question

Can long term atrial bigeminy that has been diagnosed as benign cause any damage to the heart over time or increase mortality risks over time?. I feel I have a new rhythmn pattern that is almost constant, a regular irregularity, that is diagnosed as benign atrial bigeminy. Has anyone ever had a change of rhythmn that was constant? I am assymptomatic except that I feel the new rhythmn and am taking meds to treat symptoms. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have only had it for a little over a week but it is the first time in my life that it is steady 24/7. I have had arryhthmias on and off for twenty years. I am 51 now but never continuously like it is now. I am really hoping it will correct itself soon but if it does not my question had to do with long term effects on the body if it does not correct itself. Thanks for your post. Every little bit of encouragement gives me hope.

Hi there.  How long have you had it?  I had that for 7 weeks once.  I think there are people on this board that have had it much longer with no ill effects.  The cardios at the hospital I used to work at didn't seem to be bothered too much when they saw it.
