Sick sinus syndrome

I'm a 35 year old helicopter pilot serving for military.  I joined the airforce in 2005. At that time my heart rate was 72. My weight was 96 kgs. By June 2005 my weight has reduced to 71 kgs. Since then my heart rate has started to decrease.  Now average heart rate during day time is 35 and it drops to 17 at night. Recently I was diagnosed as sick sinus syndrome and recommend a permanent pace maker. I have never experienced any fainting episode during my life. Please comment on my suitable for flying and doing the surgery as recommended by the specialist.  Thank you
