How much magnesium do you take a day?
Thanks. Definitely something to consider. Maybe I'll stick to my green smoothies.
Just as a reminder and advice - at one time the amino acid tryptophan was pushed as a safe supplement and there were some deaths associated with the product. Taurine and arginine are found in the foods that we eat at concentrations adequate to meet our needs... unless there is a dietary deficiency there is really no need to take them in pill form. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for the great article. I've been taking L arginine for awhile but not real consistent along with mag and calcium. I'll have to get the taurine and try it. I love this forum for the ideas and help we can get from other people.
I have just started taking low dosages of each, and will work up to the recommended daily intake...from what I have read, people who have tried taurine and l-arginine supplements for PVC/PAC reduction reported improvement within an hour of consumption of the supplements. It may be another "PVC myth", but I am willing to give it a shot!! If someone told me doing 100 jumping jacks cured their ectopic beats, I would be doing 500 per day!! LOL. What works for one individual, may not work for us all, but it is always beneficial to share our opinions and experiences. FYI - I have not located anything regarding negative side effects with respect to Taurine, and in fact there are many additional health benefits. L-arginine (often used for increased blood flow for weight lifting/muscle building) has a few potential concerns for those who have experienced a heart attack, so as with any personal experimentation, starting with low dosage is probably prudent. Since both are amino acids, and are present in several natural sources for consumption, I consider both to be very safe.
Please let me know if you find anything out. I would like to know if someone is goig to try it .. sounds very interesting
I can appreciate your skepticism, but since they are both amino acids I don't see any harm it giving it a try?? It was interesting that the study referenced supplements such as magnesium and calcium having little effect...I have tried magnesium, and have been taking a daily supplement for the past 8 months and it hasn't seemed to have any impact, so I am willing to give anything a shot - especially if there seem to be no side effects.
I have seen references to taurine and have looked for a scientific report or clinical study and can't find anything except for the web pages by "george" - it looks like a private study..... anecdotal at best.
Hi -
Just to let you know I have read the article, and it is really interesting. All PVC/PAC sufferers should read this and consider trying taurine with l-arginine to help curtail symptoms. It seems to have worked incredibly well in the test cases mentioned, and has little or no side effects.
Thanks for finding this!
