Hello, I was wondering what do a HEART RHYTHM DOCTOR really do. I have Heart palpitations and my doctor told me to go see a heart rhythm doctor. What can he do to help me ????. And what is the real name for this type of doctor???
The way I describe it is a cardiologist is a plumber and an EP (electrophysiologist) is an electrician.

The heart rhythm doctor is called an Electrophysiologist (EP). They are a cardiologist that specialize in the rhythm of the heart. If you have not had tests for the heart palpitations the EP Dr will refer you for those.
