Heavy Heart beat followed by problems

My heart is a heavy beat, I feel it in my neck. I have to breathe  in a lot in order to catch a good breath. My tongue starts  to twitch like the nerves in it, My left arm tingles and goes numb and hurts. My heart beat gets so heavy at points that it hurts bad in my back. My heart beat in my neck also makes me cough. I start to get pains in several areas of my body and in my head. Sometimes when I breathe in and expand my chest it hurts in my chest bone. I get worse after I eat. When I sit up or sit down my blood rushes soo much I feel like my head is gonna burst and my heart is gonna burst. Its hard to catch my breath and it kinda hurts to use my breath to talk. When all of this starts happening I get scared and get anxiety and it gets worse. I cant sleep and Im afraid to go to sleep. I went to the ER for this the other night and found nothing really except I had very low potassium. They gave me an IV of Saline, Atavan and a high dose of Tylenol or something like that and then made me drink something for potassium. They sent me home with a paper for Angina and Panic attacks.  I don’t know what to do about this and people just think its an anxiety attack. But its not. This feeling I get is what causes me to get worked up and have an anxiety attack. I have already been diagnosed with micro valve prolapse and a murmur or something. What do I do???  I have been having this everyday now. Please help, everytime this happens I feel like I need to go to the ER but I feel like they are just gonna tell me the same thing. HELP. ?????

Hi,

Your potassium levels should be monitored properly and treated. Without being a doctor, I think that many of your symptoms can be explained by this.

Electrolytes (Calcium, sodium, potassium, and to some extent, magnesium) is important to make your cells (incl. heart) work properly (at all). Hypokalemia (too low potassium) can potentially trigger serious heart arrhythmias.

I don't know how low your potassium was, but it's very important that you get this treated, and if possible, find out what the cause for low potassium is.

You've been dx with a micro valve prolapse. Is it a micro (very small) valve prolapse, or a mitral valve prolapse? I doubt this can explain your symptoms, but it's important to find out.

I think your problems can be caused by some anxiety as well. Anyway - first, and most important, your doctor should find out why your potassium is so low - as this is a possible dangerous condition.

If there were something wrong with you they wouldn't of let you home, its more than likely anxiety, i have it, i get breathless and feel like someones squashing my chest, i get palpatations, ectopic beats it goes on......its a horrible thing to have, ive been a and e, i think you do what i do you think about it too much, wonder if the docs missed something, try not pay any attention to it ignore the heartbeats and just breath normal, thtats what i did it worked for me but takes time BUT as soon as you start about your heart again anxiety comes back, trust doctors they know what they're doing,
