i have had a vtach ablation

i had a vtach ablation 1 year ago. i have since relocated and have had several incidents where the device shocked me. i found a new cardiologist who says an ablation is good for 6 months and i need another. i looked it up on google which said the ablation was a permanent cure for heart rhythms. what is the answer?

Are you seriously joking skip?  You one million per cent need to see another heart doc.  This is exactly what i mean when i tell others on the forum to try to get a heart doc that does it all....diagnostic, mapping, ablations, surgery, etc.  And that doc is wrong...to tell a patient that an ablation is only good for 6 months?  If they believe that i have some great ocean front property to sell them in Kansas......i am sure others will post but ablations aren't a treatment for many it is the cure.  I had mine going on four hears ago for the same thing you have and have never had V Tach since.  Try posting what city you live in and maybe some of the members will post who they know are good in your area.  I am also a little confused here.....did they insert an ICD inside of your chest and those are the shocks you are speaking about?  Let us know so we can weigh in with you Skip...

Sounds like the doctor is making some money there. I've had 3 ablations but only because they had such a difficult time getting my arrhythmias under control. If the spot is properly ablated, scar tissue forms and a block is made so the errant signals can't get through any more.

Definitely get another opinion.
