i have svt episodes triggered by smoking marijuana, tobacco, and caffine. It has been suggested that i might need a catheter ablation on my heart. this all started one day when i was smoking weed with some friends the funny thing is up until i quit i had been smoking a decent amount of weed everday for ten years. this just started out of nowhere i enjoy smoking weed, i quit ciggs also and i can deal with not smoking them. but weed is just such a large part of the culture in my town and in my age group and friends and i just miss it to be honest. i want to know if i will be able to smoke again if i get this procedure done any input would be nice.

You shouldn't have to have these heart issues at 25.  They, in all likelihood, didn't come on out of nowhere.  You probably weren't aware you were having them.  That's where the importance of a Holter monitor comes in.  That way you and your Dr both know exactly what is going on with your heart over an extended period of time.  I know you like to smoke weed, smokers like to smoke, alcoholics like to drink, but the reality is,... your reality is... that YOU  can't smoke weed and have a healthy, functioning heart.  Medhelp is a good place to learn a lot about your health issues. You've made a good start by giving up the cigarettes, alcohol and pot.  An ablation is not a piece of cake.  Its a very serious procedure, not something you can take lightly.  Do you have really, really good insurance?  Is the weed really worth losing your health over?  A grown-up answer would be "NO."  So please think about it and learn all you can about your situation.  Its your life, and you only have one.  Hopefully a long one.
