If I were you, I would do what you did too. As for HMO, I have HMO now. You can tell your chosen doctor that you might have exposure to HepB and request monitoring by him/her or a specialist. You don't have to have symptoms to request medical monitoring.
Thanks for the answers.
My results of my Hep B panel tests after 4 weeks of possible exposure was,
Surface Antigen - negative
Core Antibody - negative
Surface Antibody - negative
I decided to start on my HBV vaccination treatment, even though it won't protect me from the past exposure. Will the HBV vaccination complicate my body's natural response to a possible exposure, and make me less likely to have the upper hand??
I currently only have an HMO plan. How do I get a doctor to monitor my immune system for six months based solely on my own fear. I would have to have symptoms first before I can request something like that I am sure, right?
Is a person with acute HBV considered contagious? YES
If person has sex with a sex worker and that worker has no signs of chronic HBV, and the condom broke during sex is that person at risk of contracting HBV? YES
What are the transmission rates for HBV through vaginal sex? Hard to put %, but HBV is a contagious STD in your situation cited.
You won't stop your worrying by asking these question which you probably know the answers to. Get tested and be done with it. Good luck.
Acute HepB and chronic HepB with viral activities can be contagious and can infect others via vaginal sex. Let your doctor monitor you for at least 6 months. If your immune system has the upper hand you will be protected from this virus for life.
