Attention: ALL *Posting Suggestion*

I noticed there are many vague fly-by questions without any follow-up post by the thread-starters.  While, I’m sure some of these posts are legit, I think some are from trolls.  I know the regulars (myself included) are all volunteering their time in giving back to the community.  I know we are all busy and answering posts take time and effort.  To ensure we spend time on legit posts and questions, prior to answering vague posts, I suggest the regulars direct new members to our HepB Introduction & Welcome Page at:

http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Hepatitis/HepB-Introduction--Welcome-Page/show/34?cid=153

After reading our Health Page, the thread-starting member to clarify his or her situation with additional background information and labs, which could stay anonymous.  The poster’s follow-up post could indicate if it’s a genuine one.  And the poster would get more comprehensive feedback comment from the regulars this way.

Please feel free to share your thoughts on this.

I'm grateful for the help, information and support w/ the sharing of personal stories.  Pls bear with me as I get lost and I'm not able to navigate or operate this site well. Sorry if im all over the place. But this site has really helped as far as info and has given me hope. There was a beautiful quote that I carry in my heart that has opened my eyes it is.   Not waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain. It brought tears to my eyes that's so deep. I forgot who or where in this site I read it and probably couldn't find it again if my life depended on it but THANKS and THANK YOU ALL once again.         Sincerely, teababy

That's is why we want to devote time to genuine questions.  We were all "newly diagnosed" once, so we know what it feels like.

If it's a genuine post, the regulars almost know what follow-up questions are coming next.  Trollers are not intelligent people, they don't learn information and ask the "right" questions.  So follow-up posts by thread-starter are important.

And IF a troller learns our skill and ask the right questions, it's all good since they are acutally helping us build up information on this forum.

Hmmm.
I agree

In fact one particular troll ocd poster has posted in the hcv forum for months now, and on many other medhelp forums, with numerous names.
But we now can spot his style and MO. We roast him right away now so he has gone away from the HCV forum. He is probably just a kid and thinks he found a new home here in the HBV forum....not !
I believe he has been posting here also in the last few days. You all know who I mean.

Am I being daft here or what?? What is the purpose of this 'trolling'? Why would anyone want to go on a forum about an illness and pretend to have it themselves? By the way apache, it ain't gonna be kids doing the trolling coz they canny read or write...well not in UK anyway lol.

But seriously to all you 'trollers' out there if you really have all that spare time, why not go out and help old folks across the road or collect for a charity??

No not daft at all.
Good question Brit, often wondered it myself.

Bottom line is, trolls try to get attention here from time to time. Not to worry, some here at medhelp are good at spotting them. Most medhelp trolls seem to have a distinct repetitive OCD style/mo.
Kind of feel bad for them, because they do have a medical problem, and its not usually the disease they are trolling about.
