Drug resistence

Hi.

I have a general question about drug resistence. Suppose some one is taking LAM. And up to date LAM resistence is

1 year 20%
2 year 30%
3 year 40%
4 year 60%
5 year 70%.

Now what about a person has taken LAM 5 years and has not had the resistence?

In some post it says that since someone is so lucky that he does not have resistence after 5 year, then there is very little chance that he will be drug resistence if he continue to take LAM.

But I think that if he continue to take LAM then his chance to get drug resistence would be >= 70%.

Thanks for your help.

thank you please spread the voice

i was also saved by researchers in 2000, today i know that if i was strted on lam or adv i have the mutation already before starting them and i d be full of mutants

people must know that the mutants are by far the most dangerous thing, not the virus itself

Hi. Stef:

It is not me who is taking LAM. I was diagnosed with chronic hbv this summer. I am a Chinese in US. I am not taking tenofovir according to my doctor (gastroenterologist) advice.

I am asking LAM resistace because when I am at a Chinese hbv forum, I see a crazy Chinese doctor is promoting, boasting and using LAM as the first choice to treat his patients. I am trying to let people know how crazy it is to have LAM as the first choice of treatment.

Thanks for your input.

without hbsag clearance the risk continues to rise and the question is nonsense lam can t be used anymore for hbv

in italy they are making ultra deep sequence tests, it looks like mutations are already present stored in cccdna or in very low percentage and the drugs just select them overtime

there is no turning back from the mutants and lam makes so many of them, some mutants change hbsag and the possibility to clear hbv by hbsab antibodies and escape vaccines too.liver cancer mutations without possibility to stop hcc risk by hbvdna und....

talking about lam is just crazy, the drug should be taken off the normal market, it is now useless for both hbv and hiv, anyway the market will kill it soon together with adefovir
