Elevated ALT

Hello everyone, I have lived with Hep B for quite sometime now, I had it since birth apparently, my specialist has put me on a monthly blood test regime for the past 6 month, today is the first time my ALT level went above the accept range of 40-65, its at 69 now. What exactly the number mean?

You are probably still in the immuno-tolerant phase of chronic HepB.  Despite a gigantic viral load, not much is happening.  When your ALT become consistently elevated, then ask your doctor to consider treatment.  So monitor your ALTs closely.  Good luck.

Post all your liver related labs and provide backgraound info.  Like where you were born and age.  One snap shot of ALT tells you almost nothing.
