Family Suggests "Herbs, Flushes, and Cleanses" For Hep B

Ok so here I go again....  My family members keep suggesting that I cleanse my liver with herbs, olive oil, lemons, epsom salts, etc. to "get rid of Hep B" and it's symptoms.  They seem to believe that my system is "toxic and backed up from bad diet and unhealthy lifestlye", and if I go on some radical program of eating herbs and different concoctions all day every day, that I will be "cured" and the jaundice will "go away".  I have a different approach about defeating acute Hep B which is rest, healthy diet (not radical), moderate exercise, plenty of water, stress reduction and such, but these guys are convinced that I will be healed faster if I listen to them.  I would like your humble and not so humble opinions on "alternative medicine" to treat Hep B.

The funny thing is, the ones giving me the advice are both sick!  My oldest sister has Hep C for over
20 years from needlestick eight times at work, and the other sister had cancer and is in remission right now and on many drugs.  My question is if the herbs/alternative medicine works so well, then why are they still sick, right?  They seem to think since I am symptomatic that I must be loaded with toxins in my system and I need to "flush" them out and I will feel better because in herbal medicine this is the belief;  more toxins, more adverse symptoms, less toxins,.less symptoms.  Maybe there is some truth to that but I feel they don't understand viruses are not like bacteria which can be cured with antibiotics.  There are so many so called herbalist quacks out there selling people false hope in the name of "natural" medicine with no proven results.  I feel like if it works that great, then none of us should/would be sick!

You're absolutely correct in saying some are good and some bad, and most of the time we don't know what's what.  My better judgement tells me to stay away from those things right now and just let my body do what it does best on its own.

family is probably very ignorant with no university studies or research results at hand, so please do not mix with stupid herbs
herbs can be good for stupid things but this is very serious

you are in the point of seroconvesion with low hbsab, since we don t know what can interfere with your immune system we are not suggesting any drug, no real effective drug and also no stupid herbs because if we interfere with immune system you are lost in cronic hbv

herbs... well there are good herbs and bad herbs, like good medicine and bad medicine. I understand that I am not telling you anything new here. All I'm saying is: please be careful :-).
