Hepa Lab Test Result

Hi,
I am getting paranoid. Please help me understand the lab test i got just today. I was diagnosed to have Hepa B in 2010. Virus count is 0.05.

I had another test just yesterday. Still waiting for the DNA. but I all the rest, I have the results now.

Please, can you tell me how sick I am? or am I still safe? Am i contagious? Will it hurt in a few years from now? what should i do generally?

HBsAG: NONREACTIVE
PATIENTS COUNT:0.42
CUT-OFF VALUE:1.0

HBsAG: NONREACTIVE
PATIENTS COUNT: 0.26
CUT OFF VALUE : 1.0

Anti-HBe: NON REACTIVE
PATIENTS COUNT : 1.169
CUT OFF VALUE : 1.0
There is a note though under Anti-HBe as follows: ANTI-HBE RESULT B.THE CUT-OFF VALUE IS CONSIDERED REACTIVE.

My SGOT is 20.7(up to 38)
my SGPT is 19.4 (up to 41)
My ALP is 68.4 (40-129)

Please whoever has an idea. let me know. it will be a big help. I am not really scared but i wanted to know as early as now. I will seek medical attention next week too. but for now, i want to know some...

Thanks and God Bless to all us....

I mean that you should look after your virus if you leave it without attantion you may develop cirrhosis and HCC  one day and that is really bad.

Hi Rome, my English is bad. What do you mean with, "the chance to clear the virus is almost the same as to die from untreated cirrhosis". Does that mean we have high chance or low chance?

The chance is always here, but to quantify it you need those tests. By the way the chance to clear the virus is almost the same as to die from untreated cirrhosis.

DO I have the chance of clearing this virus

Tell them that with alt levels twice as much as normal, you need to check DNA levels, because if DNA is > than 2000 iU you need to be treated and to choose the treatment strategy you need to know HbsAg,  HbeAg (qualitative - sorry did not mentioned above) and also if you have fibrosis or cihrosis in the liver.

And you should take it seriously you always have an option to pay yourself for the tests.

these doctors say to me I"m ok nd I need no medication. how do I convince them to do above mentioned tests

i think that doctor is strange acting, be aware there are doctors around prescribing entecavir (the most expensive hbv antiviral, "not hbv cure") een when not needed.we have found members put on this drug for life even without all the needed tests to know if really needed

even if some hbvdna is found it is not conclusive, the tests needed as rome said are:
hbsag
hbsab
hbcab

since hbvdna is very very expensive and the other tests extremely cheap it doesn t make much sense to test hbvdna without hbsab and hbsag undeactable, anyway post hbsab when ready this will end all possibilities of having hbv

To tell that you have 100% cleared the virus, I need to know  if you have developed antibodies for hbs antigen and have dna under. Instead of being paranoid go and get the test I told you, it is cheap and available everywhere.

hello again.

May i re-post this question as i had an incomplete last time?

In 2008, i had undergone the Hepa Profile test and got this summary result.

REMARKS: (SC) *HBSAG-POSITIVE (PV=0.798 COV = 0.054), CALCIFIED BLOOD VESSEL IN THE RIGHT PERIHILAR REGION.

All i understood from the doctor was that I have Hepa B. I was later checked as non-contagious, she said a healthy carrier.

Then, just last week Dec 17, 2012, i had done another test to check if the virus is still there or if it rises or not.

The results were these.
----------------------------------------------
HBsAG: NONREACTIVE
PATIENTS COUNT:0.42
CUT-OFF VALUE:1.0

HBeAG: NONREACTIVE
PATIENTS COUNT: 0.26
CUT OFF VALUE : 1.0

Anti-HBe: NON REACTIVE
PATIENTS COUNT : 1.169
CUT OFF VALUE : 1.0
There is a note though under Anti-HBe as follows: ANTI-HBE RESULT B.THE CUT-OFF VALUE IS CONSIDERED REACTIVE.

My SGOT is 20.7(up to 38)
my SGPT is 19.4 (up to 41)
My ALP is 68.4 (40-129)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, I'd like to know the significance of my being positive before and non-reactive HbsAG today? does it mean, im cured or the virus has weaken/gone?

For the past 4 years, i had no other prayer but to get better at least if not at the best condition.if this means the virus is really gone, and that I am totally clear, i will be so thankful to HIM for hearing my prayer..

Please help me understand.

Thanks

You should test antiHbs or HbsAb quantitive, it is the same thing. but NOT hbsAg!!!

This test will show if you have enough of antibodies for Hbsag, ie if you have the immunity.

As for the anti-hbe remarks it means that you do not have antibodies for hbeAg. And this information is useless without antiHBS.

I am sure that your doctor should have ordered this test, please check your slip.

Hi Rome,

Sorry but yes I will check the slip again. Must be there is wrong with that or i must have typed wrongly... That should be not both HbsAG

Thanks Rome. Your response is really uplifting. I will have the HbsAg taken then. What do i get from that test again? more details please.

the doctor said it's in the DNA where i will get the virus count if there really is.

on this note below. why is there additional reactive comment at the end. im worried about that one. this what is exactly written in the slip.
Anti-HBe: NON REACTIVE
PATIENTS COUNT : 1.169
CUT OFF VALUE : 1.0
There is a note though under Anti-HBe as follows: ANTI-HBE RESULT B.THE CUT-OFF VALUE IS CONSIDERED REACTIVE.

You are ok because according to the tests you have no traces of the virus in fact your tests are the same as of any healthy person. If you really had hbv before this test means that you are clear, and the only test that you should have done is anti Hbs, quantitive that would show if you have the immunity. DNA test is not needed if you are hbsag negative.
So you can go and test antiHbs right away.

Thanks very much for your reply though. I will repost again or reply to this email once i get the result from DNA.

What do you mean by the way that I am ok. the virus count is low, i am a healthy carrier or non contagious? at least is that my condition now?

Thanks again Rome...
