Confused about Hepatitis vaccine

Today I finished my 3 injections for the Hepatitis A and B vaccine.

The nurse at the GUM clinic recommended I have them because I have sex with escorts regularly.

I had my first injection early in June but I can't remember the date, the second on the 19th June and third 22nd July.

After I had my last injection I asked the nurse if I was now 100% protected, she said she didn't know and went to ask a Doctor in the clinic, when she came back she said even though I have had 3 injections I could be 5-10% protected against Hepatitis or 90%, but she didn't know.... I did not understand this at all as I thought by having these injections I was immune to Hep A and B totally. I came out of the clinic feeling worried and feeling this these injections were a complete waste of time.

Am I supposed to be fully protected?
Do I have to go back to have more injections? and if so when?
I had all 3 injections in the space of a month, is this correct procedure?

All you need to do is to test for presence of HBsAb. Not everyone responds to HBV vaccination. If you do not have sufficient level of HBsAb then you may need a booster injection. Talk to your doctor.
