There are alot of options to treat Hep B , I tried Pegasys, and it did not work very well. Then I switched to telbivudine, and my viral load has been undetectable for over a year now. Hep B virus does not damage liver cells directly, it is the immune response that causes damage- when a lymphocyte destroys a hep B cell, it causes collateral damage. There is some evidence that this can cause damage in other parts of the body, such as kidneys. I cleared the e-antigen, but the virus mutated in response to my immune system- the telbivudine still works, so I know the virus is not resistant to the drug. The longer you wait, the greater the chance of mutation, and mutation lessens the chance of seroconversion. Good luck with your doctor.

Your body is clearing the virus. Taking meds would make you sero-convert faster.

Continue getting regular tests and keep monitoring vial load.

My doctor told me that 10,000 copies or less is not necessary to be treated. I am now e-antigen negative, and my viral load was 100,000 copies, and he put me back on telbivudine. If you are e-antigen positive, there is still a chance you can seroconvert. Just because e-antigen is gone, and e antigen anti body is present, does not mean you sero converted! I was e-antigen positive, and had a viral load of 300,000,000 copies, and a year later, I had undetectable dna,and a positive surface-antibody test, which indicated seroconversion, and when I stopped taking tyzeka, my viral load went back up to 100,000 copies. Now I am e-antigen negative, e-antibody positive, surface antibody positive-in other words, there was mutation. i would try ro reduce the amount of virus in your body, and good luck to you!!

congradulations,  boy

your viral load has been largely reduced.

but it is still rather high.

are you taking any antivirals? what is it?

you should continue the treatment in the hope that eAntigen will be removed.
