Do you have idea about stem cell capsule?? i heard that this stem cell capsule can cure and eradicate the virus meaning HBSAG can be clear..
My husband is hepa b positive but hbeag is non-reactive, HBV DNA is undetectable since he had interferon shots for 6 months. But recently he has test since he finished the interferon treatment and unfortunately -- elevated SGPT, but still hbeag non-reactive.
His doctor advised him to do interferon treatment again for 6 months or anti viral drug (oral) for 1 year..
I need opinion guys.. is it okay to take anti viral drug again??
You have asked some very good questions. I try to answer with what I understand.
Tenofovir is so far 100% no drug resistance because of its high potency and high genetic barrier to drug resistance. High potency means it can inhibit viral replication quickly and highly effectively. With very low or undetectable viral load means NO Replication = NO Resistance. Secondly, it requires more than one genetic mutation in the hbv genome to affect the potency of Tenofovir.
Does frequent start-stop increase Tenofovir drug resistance. It is a moot point, but so far we don't have enough studies and clinical experiences to say one way or the other. I think for patients who suffered a rebound after stopping, resuming Tenofovir seems to work just as effectively as before stopping.
Just my opinion.
