So if the Surface Antigen was positive, these results mean the infection is not active, but no telling yet if its chronic or acute? Doctor seems to believe it could be in the phase where the antibody just hasn't shown yet. Does that sound possible?
1) Hep B Surface Antigen was POSITIVE means you are infected with hepatitis B virus
but does not indicate acute or chronic
2) HBV Core Ab, IgM: NEG means infection is not active
3) HBV Surface Ab: NEG means you are not immune to the virus
4) HBV Core Ab: POS means you are exposed to the virus in some time of your life
5) HAV Ab: NEG means you are not exposed to hepatitis A virus and not immune to it
6) If Heb B Surface Antigen was NEGATIVE, you dont have infection presently.means either you cleared the virus or immune to it
I hope i have clarified your questions
