Max value of HBsAg in Acute HBV infection

Hi All,

1.Anybody knows what may be the maximum value of HBsAg count in Acute Hepatitis B ?Can it be in thousands also?

2.Whether they will have only HBeAg positive only?

3. Igm will be positive only for all acute infections?

Thanks in advance.

Hbsag can be as high as 100000 iu/ml in acute infections. There are huge variations.
An acute infection can be e ag negative, if the source is a pre core mutant.

Core igM abs are sometimes also positive in strong flares of chronic infection.
