how would you answer or what is the correct answer

My husband had Hep C. On a application what is the correct answer if there is no question about Hepatitis, but one asking about being treated or diagnosed with liver disease? He would not go through the treatment for Hep C, and was never told he had liver disease. He has now passed, and life insurance benefit has been denied because he answered no to having liver disease. It was my understanding it is a blood disease, and other organs and such are affected by it.

it may be of use to know that HCV makes brain damage too and not just mild or irreleavant as latest discoveries.
i think it is correct to call it infectious disease and not liver disease because both hcv and hbv are able to make zero liver damage, the treatment from hepatitistechnologies used by me and many members here is able to regress or keep liver damage to zero despite being infected by hbv, hcv or even hbv+hcv exactly like todd experience that regressed cirrhosis with this treatment despite both active viruses infection

i am sure hbv and hcv are viral diseases, liver disease may be a consequence.in italy you are treated for infectious diseases for these viruses

Though I hate insurance companies for all their excuses, I think you need to clearly seek legal counsel.  Though the application asks for "liver disease" it is not clear what the insurance company means by this.  Hepatitis C is technically a disease of the liver even though other organs may play a role, and even though the liver might not be currently "diseased", otherwise I doubt they'd call it "Hepa- titis".

post also on hcv forum maybe some members had similar situations, this is hbv forum and it is rare to get to end stage and dye for hbv also hbv is much slower and benigne on most carriers while hcv makes much more liver damage

thank you for replying. I am really having a tough time with this. Need to find out what type of lawyer. oh, and the check the ins. co. sent to me for all the premiums paid, which I have not cashed because it would lead them to believe I agreed with their decision, is void after 80 days not a year like most checks. So they have you comin and goin.
thanks again,

Your dilemma sounds tricky, perhaps a lawyer could advise you.  There are lawyers who will give one free consultation and not take any money unless you win.  I am so sorry for your loss and then to find out that the life ins will not cover.
Wishing you the best
