Start first injection of PegIFN tomorrow, need advice

Have a test a month ago, DNA=5x10^7, HBsAg>250iU, HBeAg=1000iU
Today got refreshed ALT/AST=123/112

Will start the first injection of PegIFN tomorrow.
Heard that Vitamin D3 is helpful, can I take VitD3 daily during PefIFN? Is it safe?
Shall I take the pill of VitD3 which can be bought from the med store? How many mg shall I take every day?

You can get Puritan Pride 5,000iu Vit D3 from their website. Or you can go to your health store and ask for high dose Vit D3. Do you know your Vit D level in your blood now? Best to ask your Dr to test that as well before treatment. Take 5,000iu D3 per day would be sufficient.

BTW, were you infected at birth or as a child?

Also, IFN treatment is no picnic. Injection every week, anxiety about needles every week, meds must be refrigerated, costly, and common side effects of fatigue and tiredness.

However, you must start to know.

Good luck with your treatment. Your numbers looks good for IFN treatment. Your ALT is high, hence your immune is active.

You can get cholecalciferol 2000 or 5000 or 10000 IU per capsule. Yes its 25 capsule because what you are about to take is not just vit D alone. So find on net which offers you 1 capsule of 10000 IU or 2 capsules of 5000 each. I take 8000 IU each day even after my vit d is 90 ng/ml.

No, it's Vitamin D3 capsule mix refined vegetable oil. But just 400 IU per capsule. 10000IU=25 capsules, it's too much

400unit per capsule your talking about is not 3d vit I suppose, I think its a mix of calcium and vit d.

ultrasound is find but dose not tell much like fibroscan! Vit D in IU  (cholecalcierol is good. I think you need to take more Vit D around 10,000 IU a day.
