HeptatisB

My friends son has just been diagonised having Heptatis B. He wants his son get married without informing the girl or girls parents about this.
My question
Is it ethical to hide the boy's condition and get him engaged/married
Is the disease contagious and if so how will this affect the girlwife)
Can they have children

Of course it is not ethical.  This virus is more contagious than HIV.  But the best thing about Hep B unlike other contagious viruses is that there is a vaccine for it.  So one can get married without worrying about infecting their partner or children.  So I would advise that your friend's son tell his potential wife of the condition.

He needs to tell her, it depends whether he has it chronic or not and how bad he has it but he might give it to his fiancee. I have chronic hep b and my boyfriend knows, he is now vaccinated against it and will never catch it. If I was to have a child it would need to be vaccinated straight away, to reduce it's chance of getting it. Unfortunately I got it from my mother.. I'm not sure how it works for a man though.

in my country you get to prison for hbv and since it is not deadly if cured it is not murder, in case of hiv it is considered like murder or almost murder....i think this is enough to suggest to get evrybody in contact vaccinated since there is a vaccine who makes hbv as dangerous as water for other people
