It is interesting your doc gave you a precise figure (9%) as probability to clear hbv.
As for me, I am also hbe-. I had symptoms in 1998, and got diagnosed hbsag+. After some tests, doc gave me 6 months of Lamivudine, and i became hbvdna undetected. Stopped Lam.
I almost forgot about it till 2010 when i had to go abroad, found that hbsag still positive, hbe negative and hbvdna negative too. (Was allowed to go abroad).
In mid-2012, again checked hbvdna: was 25,800 copies/ml (units are imp). Did all relevant blood tests, U/sound and Fobroscan (avl at Dow Hospital Khi). It turned out my liver function/condition seemed okay. So I was not prescribed treatment.
I learnt a lot abt hbv from Stefano (stef2011) and other kind and knowledgeable posters here. There is a lot to learn abt hbv. 'Knowledge is power' is very valid for hbvers. Wish you the best.
at 1000-1500iu/ml response of sequential treatment was 90% with 50% hbsag cleared by 48weeks
you re about my hbsag levels, mine up and down from 4000 to 7400iu/ml, you may start tenofovir and try lower it to around 1500-3500iu/ml by few years, on this lower level pegintf add on may work to clear hbsag
Hbeag -ve. Alt 21. Doctor says I've only 9% chances that i'd clear the virus through medication. What's ur status?
My result was 6400 iu/ml approx
What you are saying has indeed confused me a bit too.
Ok, I have the Cell Ph No of Mr Farooq Hussain, Zone Manager, Islamabad Branch of Chughtai Lab: it is 0344-4443099 and 0300-6280419. I have myself got HBsAg Quantitative done through him and got a result. He came himself to collect the sample. So I strongly to GO TO THE LAB YOURSELF.
To be sure, do this: Call Chughtai Lab's UAN : 042-111-255-790 and ask about Mr Farooq. Then talk to him about this. If you are in Islamabad/nearby, go YOURSELF to Chughtai Lab Regional Office at Royal Centre, Fazal-e-Haq Road, Opposite PIMS, Blue Area, Islamabad, and ask for Mr Farooq. If you are in Lahore, go to Chughtai lab, and call Mr Farooq from there.
Please come back and let us know what happened.
