i am prateek,21 years old.
i just want to know abt the hbsag, that what is this test belongs to?
i recently doneted my blood to lions club which is in delhi they do help to poor peoples if anybody require blood and after that when i got te report then i came to know that in my blood this content is reactive, then i went to doctor he told me for further tests like hbsag, hbeag, dna pcr quantitive.i did all that tests now my doc told me that there is some problem in my reports and i have to start treatment and the treatment is so costly,i couldn't afford that. please tell me any other way-
(*) is it possible that i can live with this virus, i mean will it affect  my health?
(*) i used to drink and smoke occassionally but i left all that things now.
(*) is there any another way to deal with this problem, any other way of treatment, which is less costly then this? (doctor told me that you have to take a vaccine in one month cost is Rs10,000 and a tablet of Rs 500 each )
(*) how can this virus spreads to the others so that i take some protection against it?
please tell me all regarding things abt this

Can you write down your lab results here? What is the problem that your doctor saw?
Why did you mention a vaccine? A vaccine will not work once you are already infected. I think you have the costs all wrong! There is one medicine that you inject once a week for one year. The cost of each injection is about 15000 Rs. There are other pills you can eat once a day: the cost ranges between 25 Rs per pill to 300 per pill.

Are you under the care of a good gastroenterologist? You need to be absolutely sure that you are doing the right thing before you start tablets: once you start, and if you stop before you get completely cured (which is not a sure thing) the disease gets worse.

Take your wife to a gastroenterologist.
Read this: http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Hepatitis/HepB-Introduction--Welcome-Page/show/34?cid=153

I quote from the page:
Many chronically infected women learn of their chronic status via routine blood tests done in early pregnancy.  In a typical pregnancy there is very little risk of transmitting hepatitis B to the fetus in utero.  There does, however, remain a high risk of transmission during the delivery itself.  This risk is largely negated if the newborn receives two shots within 12 hours of birth.  The first shot is a dose of immunoglobulin which boosts the newborn's immune system and allows neutralization of the hepatitis B virus.  The second shot is the first dose of the hepatitis B vaccine (a three-shot series).  You must follow up and complete the three-shot series on schedule.  Once the series has been completed the child should have a titer done to determine that they have responded to the vaccine and are indeed immune to infection.

hi prateek, you have the virus and the best you could do now is get healthy, eat healthy foods, sleep early and exercise daily, you liver is the main victim of the virus. the virus usually transmit thru blood, dental, sex or any fluids that comes in contact with the person to person. now that you have it, better advise your family to have the same test as you did and if they are nonreactive of the virus, advise them to do the vaccination ASAP for protection.always be sure that you will not share razors, nippers, toothbrush to others so that you can prevent the spread of the virus. its very frustrating to know that we had the virus without us knowing it until we go to the doctor for test. just eat healthy and monitor your liver to prevent any cirrhosis and liver cancer in the future. bless you!
