help with vit d

I bought some vitaminD3 from WALMARK, it has 400 IU only. I didnt checkd my vit d lvl. As i would go next week for the 4'th month in a row alt check and also will ask for vit d lvl. I want to know if it is best to take 2 of  this or should i take something else .thanks

you have to avoid all calcium in diet from dairies and 2.5L of water, this way calcium cannot rise because there isn t any.but you have to be careful in the choice of food, they put so much added calcium which is just a damge to our health

also you dont have to check serum calcium only but also urine calcium 24 hrs, before rise of ca in serum you have rise in urine and this makes extra work for kidneys

also do check your pth (paratormone), vitd25oh alone will not tell if vit d is deficinet or not.pth must never reach und or less than normal range otherwise you get calcium rise.the best pth is low range of normal for sick people and just little less than half normal range for healthy people

Well if I tell them I am taking this.much D3 according what is considered safe by FDA and other medical standards they will write in my chart and tell my health insurance  that I dont follow recommended treatment.

My calcium was over the limit. But I fee fine. Now added more magnesium and K2 and it went down to normal.

I just feel very strong taking 30k units daily. But am worried to try taking 50  a day.

a doctor expert on vit d is needed for monitoring, no dairies diet and many tests.it is a dose not for self medication

this said once on doctors monitoring (especially pth and calcium urine) and on diet there is only benefit and no harm

What are your thoughts of maybe going to 100,000 units for us. I feel really good on 30,000 iu daily

Melcul, if you have access to the internet and can access amazon.com or puritan.com then there are plenty of Vitamin D supplements for sale on those 2 sites. A lot for sale in the 5,000iu and some that are for 10,000iu. Stef always has good reccommendations for the types to take, don't hesitate to ask any of us though! :)

next time tell the pharmacist to update or shut up and be ashamed of his ignorance, it is his work to be updated

guidelines for deficiency require 300.000-1.000.000iu one time and then 2000iu daily in healthy people (without chronic infections), ask him what are you going to do with such nothing as 400 or 1000....waste your money in his pockets!

No..i'm from europe, romania, but you have to understand that medicine here is very outdated

its uselss the sun makes 20.000iu in few hours, where do you go with less than this if already the sun is not making any

I wanted to take 1000 iu daily. The farmacist i askee tolded me he has something with 1000 iu, but this is with calcium too. This means i have to take 10 pills/ day? Where can i find at least 5000 iu pills

no need to test baseline, 10.000 is a dose you get with sun every day too and being hbv carrier makes in need of huge amounts of d to get normal serum levels
