confused

good day! Last January 2008, I was found reactive to HBSAG, I undergone the same test from other hospital and found Non reactive, I had Anti HBS and its Reactive with the same hospital, I took my last dose of the vaccine last February. I again took the HBSAG  last week and  found out I am reactive.

How is this possible? by the way I had my vaccine 2004, the first two dose and just got my last dose this year.
Could this be the reason why?

It is better to have a confirming test done.

If your HBsAg is now negative and anti-HBs negative or weak positive, then HBIG may make sense, otherwise no.

Please consult your doctor.

Best.

Thanks for the enlightenment my friend, one more question do you think it is advisable for me to undergo one shot of HBIG passive vaccine since it may provide me more antibodies, what's your idea of this?

Thanks and more power..

Could mean your immune system is trying to clear the HBV.

No, but you can refer to the welcome page of this forum (link located to the right).  If you post your results then someone can help you interpret them.

You can go to a big hospital in the Philippines to have the tests done.  There are other people from the Philippines whose lab results posted here were very clear.

Thanks, but i have read in some sites that it's not advisable to start again the series even if I have missed the last dose, they actually recommend to just continue with what i have missed after doing the test which is Anti HBS and HBSAG.

Regards.

no, I'm here in the Philippines, yah the results are confusing..Does it has something to do with the reagent they used in the tests?

Do all hospitals use the same kit in the tests?
Thanks and hope to hear more from you.

Great advice. Don't believe it's recommended to wait four years between shots.  You should really start from scratch.

You may have been infected before you got vaccinated.  There are false negatives and false positives.

I would get another set of labs done.  Test viral load and e-antigen/antibody status.  The full Hep B panel.  See what happens.

Hi,

Is it possible that by interrupting the vaccination series, one would have to start all over to attain immunity?  Waiting nearly to complete the series of shots is the same as not getting any shots?  Thanks.

Regards to everyone
