Is the trial with interferon, 7977 and Riba, or the all orals for 12 weeks?
4 all concerned...I contracted Hep-C from my X.. Took approximately 12 years to show up, as doctors were saying it was RA, people with Hep have an RA factor. My viral load was 3 hundred thousand. Did Milk Thistle for a few months, then sought a specialist. Did not want treatment until a few weeks ago, the X died from liver failure. When the Hep goes untreated ur % for liver cancer increases, such was his case. It was too late. I have been told Im a canadiate for the 9777 trails, after days of research I'm going 4 it. Will keep U posted. I already suffer major fatigue. My advice, keep checking the gov. listings, until then stay away from drugs, alcohol etc. Think Healthy.
Thank you for your update on PSI 7977. That is great news. There are many of us on this forum that have failed prior tx and/or are waiting for the new meds. Please keep us posted, also alatyr55. Thank you.
Pharmasset just got merged with Gilead Sciences so I don't know how you would contact them.
Your best bet is to continually check clinicaltrials.gov for trials that involve the drug you would like to take in the place you would like to take it. All of these options you can put in the search box on the web page. There is an extension of the BMS 790052/PSI 7977 trial coming up which has two to four arms for people who have failed the TRIPLE treatment (SOC + telaprevir or boceprevir) The number of the original study to put in the search box is NCT01359644 and I understand the extension will be done from the same sites or at least some of them. But I don't know about trials for people who failed only SOC. Still, they could change the protocol or perhaps have another in the near future. Since you are so close to Washington, you may just want to try putting virginia, maryland or washington dc in the search box and see what comes up. Since that is where NIH is, there is a good chance I would think.
Also, there have been a fair number of trials that have been collaborations. If you cannot contact Pharmasset try Bristol Myers Squib, Tibotec which have had drugs paired with PSI 7977 in trials recently or Gilead which just bought the company as of yesterday.

I am Genotype 3 and have failed SOC. I tried calling Pharmaset but couldn't get through to them. How do I apply to be in a clinical trial?
Does anyone have a contact number or email? Please help me.
ericolander at rocketmail *******
I am in week 18 of the same trial. 12 weeks SOC + 12 weeks just PSI. Pretty much the same results and sx as you. I feel so much better off of the peg and riba. I can't even imagine 48 weeks of old SOC, what torture.
Wishing us both SVR in 2012
Hi, if you would like to find out about the course of the BMS/PSI trial from a personal perspective, I have discussed this in a series of "journals" on my personal page.
