Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. I found that a good quality lotion like Gold Bond smeared all over my body after every shower helps a lot with the itching.

Bill is right - Atarax/Vistaril/Hyrdroxyzine works wonders with the itching, but you need a prescription for it.  Another over the counter med is Benadryl - readily available over here but not sure in India. In another thread some of us had commented on applying ice packs/cool towels which help in a pinch. Hope is subsides soon because it's really bothersome.

You could ask your doctor for ‘atarax’ (hydoxyzine)? I hear it has helped others with severe treatment related itching. Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine and shouldn’t interfere with your HCV treatment.  Others in here have used an over-the-counter product called ‘Gold Bond Triple Strength’ lotion with some success; although I don’t know if it’s available internationally or not.

Good luck—
