1b UNDIE at week 4!

I am so relieved to have gotten the call that I am undetectable at week 4!  It makes we want to kiss you all.  :)

There's a bit of a story that goes with this.  Originally, my doc had me scheduled to have my VL tested only at weeks 12 and 24.  At the last minute he decided to do a VL at week 4 because it turned out that I got a bad batch of syringes and 3 of them leaked a fairly good sized drop of med from the connection between the needle and the syringe.  Since he wasn't sure how much med I actually was getting, he decided to check my VL and lo and behold it was UNDIE!

I would like to give a shout out to anyone that is using Pegasys syringes that, if your shot leaks...call Pegasys and tell them!  I wasn't sure until the 3rd shot about exactly what was leaking or where it was coming from and I finally had my husband watch the shot as I gave it and he saw it leak from that connection.

I just saw your post on another thread about a possible shorter tx duration for geno 1's with a low VL who clear at 4 wks.  I'll have to show that to my doc.  Very interesting!!  Thanks for posting that.

My VL in July 08 was very low:  30,100.  I had it checked again just before I started TX on 9-5-08 but I never asked what it was at that time.

Woo-hoo to you, too. That's wonderful and thanks very much for sharing the story about the leaks.

A defective syringe from Pegasys is what first brought me here to the forum, after the interferon leaked.  I've since found some batches are perfectly fine but others aren't.

Congrats again. I wasn't clear at four weeks and took all my injections. After missing my tenth one, I was clear at twelve. Should we deduct that leaky syringes contribute to SVR? All the best.
