During tx I was given Promethazine for nausea, that stuff knocked me out :)
They tried me on Ambien for sleep it didn't really help so they told me to take two.  That was better
After a while there was no needs for either
Good luck!
Oh what about the new Nyquil for sleep?  Just throwing ideas out there

This should be a temporary problem and gradually improve.  My go to solution for sleepless nights is a hot steamy bath with essential oils. Not only does it relax the body but also the mind.

Yikes! Benadryl will help bring that reaction down. I really think these meds make the body more reactive to things. Hang in there.

In answer to your question; Zolpidem aka Ambien is prescription only, I took the 10 mg tabs. Unisom is over the counter and I believe it is similar to Benadryl.

I still use the sleepy time tea, 5mg of Zolpidem and KindleFire reader.. I think that knock my edge and it does not dry me out like benedryl does.

Harvoni not only makes people tired….. it causes insomnia.   I treated with
a totally different drug and had insomnia.   It seems to last for about a month after treatment.  Many people have experienced this.  These are harsh
treatment drugs.  It takes time for them to leave your body.  As I said before..I saw my doctor and got something to help me sleep during treatment and for about a month after.   It really helped me.

What med(s) were you treated with? I have seen a lot of clinical trial results, never once have I seen insomnia post, or during, tx listed as a side effect. I would hazard a guess and say it has nothing to do with your tx, but everyone reacts differently. If you experienced it during tx, then I would expect it to gradually return to normal. If you did not have trouble sleeping during tx, then I'm pretty sure it is not related. If it persists to the point you are unsafe driving or unable to work, I would recommend an overnight sleep study. You may for some reason have developed sleep apnea, which is not only a PITA but can be dangerous. Light blocking sleep masks and white noise generators have always helped me. mac790

I took Zolpidem during the 1st part off treatment then Unisom. They both helped, but I never really slept well. The RBV kept me wired. Good luck.

Try Benadyl, I used it all through Tx, it took the edge off and made me sleepy. Of course check with your doc first.

She you doctor.   I took Prescription meds to sleep after treatment for about a month.   After that I could sleep just fine.   You need good sleep to recover.
Really help me.
