Hello I have cirrhosis. After I got to SVR my doctor said that I was considered cured.  He also said that over time my liver would improve.  He said that research that is being done is showing this improvement.
A few people on here have come back years later to tell us their liver has improved.
We can hope :)
Take care

There have been some studies that show the liver can improve over time even when cirrhotic.

"38 HCV patients with cirrhosis with an SVR were analyzed."

Not sure how much weight I would put into a study of only 38 people, It's always easier for those who are not cirrhotic to think it's a rosy picture though.

People that treat and rid themselves of HCV with cirrhosis can live a very long time as the damage will stop. There have been some studies that show the liver can improve over time even when cirrhotic. For what it's worth I was DX with cirrhosis back in 2005, now Hep C free and so far doing ok....... Just hang in there.
