AHCC question

Hi, I'm new here, and my husband is in his 10th month of treatment.  Just had his second transfusion, and he isn't bouncing back.  They upped his procrit, and he has had to stop taking ribavirin again.  He's still on a half dose of pegasus and his viral count is undetectable.  His doctor said he hated to pull the rug out from under him last visit, and it looks like I"m going to have to take him before his next visit.  I think he may need another transfusion soon.  It's how he's acting.... too tired, too nasueated, and too out of breath, and in too much pain.  That indicates he's too anemic.  He's on procrit, neupogen, 1/2 dose of pegasus, marinol, promethizine, lortab, and prozac.  I think I remembered all of it.

Anyway, the question is about AHCC, my sister in law wants me to get this stuff.  Has anyone tried it?  Is it worth getting?

Thanks!

Yes his Hgb is lower than previously.  I am going to call his doctor tomorrow. I won't buy this stuff, I will tell my Sister in law not to waste her money and send it here.  thank you for answering me.  I live out in the country -- he's bed bound.  It's tough.

Thanks!

Unfortunately this type of thing gets a rough ride on this forum and rightly so.
You ask 'Is it worth getting?' Answer -No.
'My sister in law wants me to get this stuff' is such a classic expression of an uninformed opinion that it can't be bettered.
Is is Hgb lower now than previously?
You should certainly let the doctor know straight away that you are worried.
