Thanks for your reply. When I went to see a doc, he did not mention anything about abnormality in AMA level. I have read that about 25% of HCV patients have their AMA/ANA levels elevated. I will e-mail my doctor again and ask him about those.
I do not have dry eyes or mouth but I do get the aching in my knees and my back. I use to be a very active athlete, so I attributed my knee problems to that.
Sorry, I see you are a male. I should have looked first. You need to speak to the doctor who ordered these tests or to a rheumatologist. These results could mean a lot of things to nothing at all. Some people with HCV will get results like yours. But it is also possible to have one of the autoimmune diseases such as lupus or even autoimmune hepatitis. Do you have any symptoms along with it such as dry eyes or mouth, or any joint pain?
Those are both barely out of range. They also tend to fluctuate. If you are a female, you need to know that 10% of females always test positive for ANA and it means nothing. What does your physician say? I would repeat the tests in a few weeks.
