Interferon

Are there any natural treatments? I have Hep C. My liver is good, but my load count is 8 million. Anything I can do?

Thanks

good luck--it sounds like you caught it early.  age, race etc & genotype of hep c depend on your response to treatment.  it's also individualized as far as dose to your weight.  i lost 38#'s on treatment,  but i needed to loose it.  i knew i would loose,  so i wasn't real concerned about my start weight & also worked at the gym 3 days a week prior to treatment to build myself up.  my dr at upmc ok'd the use of milk thistle.  i was shocked because usually dr's frown on natural remedies.  but i didn't use it due to history of allergies-hayfever etc.  plus i was already on treatment so i didn't want to take anymore pills or stress my liver anymore than i had to.  i agree with the above comments.  kudos132

Can you please explain VL6 and SVR do not know what they are?

I believe g2 and g3 are considered easier to treat.  However I am g1a, started with VL 6 million and got SVR on the first try.  Hope you do also.

Biopsy was done 2 0r 3 years ago and was fine, depending on results from scan on Wednesday will probably have another biospy.

Which genotypes get better results from treatment?

Have you had a biopsy to confirm the condition of your liver?

Thanks for your input. I am a genotype 1. I do not have any effects of a bad liver. Next test is this Wednesday. Doing another scan.

Depending of your genotype, I would treat or wait. Treat when you have 2 or 3, wait two years until new meds hit the market when you have 1 or 4. The latter have a low rate of success, so it's worthwhile to wait for better drugs. On the other hand, the sooner you treat, the higher chance of success.

I have no effects yet except a high load count. Did two liver biopsy and the liver is healthy so far as we speak. As you might know my doctor whats me to start treatment ASAP and I am not in favor of the idea yet. Looking for a better solution. I know the Mayo Clinic was testing a treatment you would once a month instead of weekly.

Natural TX may help feel better but it will not kill the virus....this monster progresses ,it may be slow of it may be fast....big pharma drugs are the only cure.
