Airplane travel and Pegasys question...

My husband and I are flying to see my parents the end of this month. Since we will be in El Paso on my shot night, I'll take it with me. Has anyone here flown with this medication? Do you declare it to the airport personnel before you go through security? Did you check it with your baggage?

Thanks!

I’ve flown several times with interferon.  Get a note from your doctor saying that you must travel with interferon, an injectable medication.  Carry on a small six pack cooler with an ice pack and hand it to the person as you go through security.  If it is a long flight, bring a ziplock bag and ask the attendant for ice.  I flew international a couple months ago and had no problems at all.  If you are still concerned you can call your airline and they will put a note on your reservation.

I'm not sure of the answer but I do know you *never* put any medication through with baggage. That's because baggage slips away to other destinations so easily.

Keep your meds with you.
