Alinia users

I am at week 29 a have had URQ discomfort for about a week now. Stopped taking B12, Folic Acid, and B6 for a few days to see if that helps. Wondering if Alinia users are experiencing this. Have not heard much on Alinia in awhile. Does anyone have some input?

Just checked my tracker. ALT has dropped over the last 2 weeks from 35. to 28.
AST about the same from 39. to 41.   Maybe it is diet... been reckless with the sugar and carbs.

Thanks, that does give me some comfort. It is also comforting to know you are monitoring the board.

Hello hr, not to hijack the thread, but while your here, do you have any opinion on the use of Meloxicam for osteoarthritis? I've been on it for a little over a week and it really seems to help me W/pain & mobility....but I have read the warning label regarding possible liver toxicity/damage...any opinion would be helpful..

As Jim correctly stated, the pain comes mainly from a swelling of the liver capsule. Some form of increased inflammation is likely the cause. This might be a good sign actually, if, for example - a speculation-  a newly developed "remnant" HCV epitope is being attacked by your T cells. I would monitor the ALT, see if it spikes dangerously, and otherwise not change anything, since you seem to have found a good balance...

I have been using flax seed oil instead of fish oil.  Vegetarian option - seems the same to me. Cheaper too, than fish oil.

First sentence, second paragraph, should read in part: "...assuming it's NOT something in your digestive tract..."

Do I have to say that you may be too supplement focused :)

The liver has no pain sensors, so any URQ pain is most probably referred pain from the surrounding membranes -- assuming it's something in your digestive tract or referred from some place even farther away (like the neck) through nerve endings. These membranes can swell and shrink (both can cause pain) either due to inflammation or healing, so the pain may not necessarily be bad. A talk with your doc seems more in order than with your nutritionist :) and "Facta's" suggestion of an ultrasound certainly couldn't hurt.

On the other hand, stress also could cause the pain, so if you combine the cost of your supplements with the current economy, then perhaps they are related!

OK bud. I sure hope it is not the PPC though, expensive stuff. I will drop the Shark liver oil and Salmon oil and see what happens.

I've been on it since week 20 or so, and I'm just about finished with 72 weeks. My only side effect has been psychedelic colored urine.

Might time to get an ultrasound to check your gall bladder. Check in with your doctor.

Hope you feel better soon.

Add the B6/12 and Folic Acid back it wont be them.
You need them for TMG to work.

If you are taking any Oils i.e. Fish Oil PPC etc drop them. They could be off.
If that fails drop the herbs.

The anti-oxidents wont be causing it.
