Dra Good Morning,

I tried to read the previous  post of your follower, but there is no same situation that i had, yesterday i played basketball gMe in our camp, most of the players are filipinos, one pilipino tried  to steal the ball in my hands and accidentally scratc me with his hand nails, i am enjoying the game and i did not notice that may hand scratch by other players  that time, ( blood did not came out but the scratch is totally break the  skin), and continues to play, my question i put my self in risk in hepatitis? There is a possibilities that i will contract the virus in this way? In you expert opinion do i need a hepatitis risk?

Hepatitis C requires blood to blood contact. The blood of a hepatitis c infected person would have to enter your blood stream.

No risk for hep c from the incident you described.

Also we are not doctors we are patients supporting each other and sharing knowledge and experiences of living with and treating hep c

I did not notice that i had a broken skin and i continues to play, i notice only when we finished our game, there is chance that i had contaxt with other players sweat or blood because basketball is a physical game, still no risk in your opinion

Hepatitis C isn't transmitter through fingernails.   Hepatitis C isn't that easy to get.  You are fine.
