Tweaks to new format

Hi,

Thanks again for all the great suggestions. We’ve been busy coding them up and this morning we pushed the following changes:

* Increased the size of the center forum and discussion panels
* Decreased the size of the photos
* Increased the size of the comment box
* Moved the “Back to Forum” link above the comment box and made it larger

This weekend we will release a feature to allow you to select the font size in the forum panel.

Please let us know what else we can do to improve it especially now that you have had a week to use it.  Thanks for your patience.

On a serious note. I am starting to get used to the new format and I do appreciate all the hard work that you guys are doing. I still miss the old format, but little by little getting used to the new.

Thanks.

Editing our own posts?? Do you mean when we yell at each other and call each other names, we now would be able to edit that and tell the person we never told them that they were a jerk? Cool..( Only kidding ~I think?~)

I had a sneaking suspicion adding the ability to edit was in the planning! :)
Had more time on hand today and with the three day weekend to read more posts and find an interesting mix of people, very enjoyable!
And the features, for the most part, are awesome!  Thanks!~

Hi,

Glad you like the new tweaks. The ability to edit your own post is on our road map, but no time frame yet. It is a popular request and one we will be doing.

Wow! If I was given something to change on the forum that is EXACTLY what I'd choose as well.  And I'm sure everyone would agree with that!  Diagnosed three months ago and fairly new but there have been times I've read a post knowing the person would love to hide under a rock after 'the heat of the moment'  and coming back a day or two later cringing. LOL!  Many times thinking, I KNOW they didn't mean to say that... and then, of course, all the Freudian slips, etc!

Congrats on the new format - very nice work!
Don't know if this has been suggested before, but there are two things that would make a world of difference for me and other fumble fingered followers of the forums:

- The ability to delete one of MY posts. I just managed to generate a duplicate post, and others do too. It would be so nice to be able to delete duplicates.

- The ability to edit MY posts. Re-reading a post after its made often reveals things that are badly expressed, or misspelled, or just plain heat of the moment 'that's not what I meant to say'. It would be so nice to be able to correct them.

Thanks for the terrific service you provide through this forum - its very much appreciated by the community!

To: cindy and medhelp,

I'm in such a fog that I couldn't figure out WHY the forum seemed easier to navigate the past few days!

The site is much better.

Thanks for your hard work on our behalf.

the right column, does anyone actually ever use any of that?
and does its use justify its size?

Thanks.  Your latest improvements have really helped me.  Ability to adjust font size will be very helpful to these aging eyes.  I must agree with Anwaar, this is the best Hep C forum on the net.

I have not been here very long, but I too appreciate the efforts.  Really like the blue (but it is my fave color!

Not sure if the font idea is really needed.....how bout spell check?????  Or have I just not found that feature?

Thanks again for your considerations!

Thanks for being responsive with the tweaks. Now that I'm used to it, I must say that I do prefer the new format and some of the new features. As to some of the extraneous stuff I don't use -- in the beginning it was a distraction, but now I hardly notice them because my mind/eye has filtered out what I don't use.

All the best,

-- Jim
