Anyone else on Harvoni?

I just got word today I am approved and they are shipping it to me this week. I'm almost speechless and I feel as though I have won the lottery.

I have UHC; GT 1a; Fibrosis F1; VL 1.4M.  Been sick in bed for 2 months with hep c extrahepatic sides and ready to get well.

Blessings

On your rejection letter from the insurance company you should have a reference number. Call the insurance directly. Call Gilead directly. Call CVS directly. Call another Speciatly pharmacy like accrued or express scripts to see if they can manage your prescription. Fight the fight. You are your own best advocate. Call your doctor and or email is better. That you aren't well and you need them to step in and be more proactive in getting you the remainder of your meds. You and your doctor should also know the prescribed treatment for Hep c 1a with cirrhosis is 24 weeks on harvoni.
Last but not least a price war is going on between Gilead (harvoni) and Abbievie (Viekara pak) check the nasdaq and follow the money reports on big pharma re: hep c drugs. Harvoni is dropping its price to stay competitive.

I doubt they will they have been doing that to make sure the meds are working even express scripts is allowing the patients who started Harvoni to continue treatment even though they removed Harvoni from their formulary of preferred drugs

How can they do that? It's unethical to stop treatment at 4 weeks.
I'd be on the phone with my Insurance company asking if this is some mistake or what. Now that they started you on tx they must finish even if it is their error on initial approval. Even if you haven't had a UD response at 4 weeks.

Do you know who is your prescription drug provider? That has a lot to do with it.

Just took my 7th pill. One week down, 11 to go. My GI insists that I will be undetected by the 12th week so the only PCR's he's ordered are one for the 12th week, and one for three months after that. I'm so ecstatic to be on the Harvoni that I didn't argue. It makes sense to me. Are other people getting more labs than that.  He is giving me labs at the halfway point for general liver function, platlets etc...

Yes this Harvoni is very tolerable. I feel a little pressure in my head and I could feel some throbbing on my right side under my ribcage. It's all good cuz I know this pill is busy working!

Good luck on your journey to healing!

Congratulations on starting your Harvoni ! I started two nights ago and so far, so good. A few side effects, but they are tolerable. Some headaches, (which increasing water takes away,) slight tummy ache right after taking for a few hours, and temperature fluctuations.) Prayers for a great tx! Tanya

We do not qualify for income based and I still got the discount coupon. . I am paying $5 a month instead of $3000 a month.Go to the support path for Harvoni and fill out the info.
You can still save on the next 2 months.

Tomorrow will mark my finishing of 4 weeks.

Not certain when or what labs they do when.  I am on the 24 weeks treatment plan.

Only side effects have been a little upset stomach and fatique.  However, compared to my other 3 treatments in 17 years this medicine is a breeze to take once a day.

I will start taking meds in the mornings. Hopefully no side effects but everyone is different.

Yes, this is equivalent to winning the lottery, not doubt about it. Amazing how this cure came in our lifetimes. Who knew that the "1a" heppers would get a cure so fast and not a minute too soon. We all know that the virus was starting to hit hard on many of us baby boomers.

This is a blessed event!

You are going to feel so much better when the virus is gone. What time of day will you be taking the meds?

Not on Harvoni but wanted to wish all of you great success with Tx.  The year 2015 will forever be remembered as the downfall of this deadly virus.
Sending Best Wishes.

Congrats, I just took my first Harvoni pill tonight. GT1a, TT, I think I've had Hep C for 25 years. I also failed 2 int treatments and relapsed on Incivek after 48 weeks about a year ago. Best wishes for all of us for SVR.

The coupon is not but paying for entire prescription if your insurance won't approve you is. For that you have to have less than $100,000 household. My household is above that but I pay $5 per refill

I have just finished week 3 of 24 will be done May 4th. My first blood test is next Tuesday at the end of my first 4 weeks of treatment.

Genotype 1a, diagnosed in 1990, probably infected in 1978, 3 time null responder to interferon based treatments, diagnosed cirrhosis Jan 2008, platelets about 85, relapsed after 12 weeks Sovaldo Olysio.

Good luck fellow dragon warriors

Thanks Healing hearts. I will check into that coupon. I was told by my pharmacy that the coupon was income qualifying so I passed on it.

Wow...the pharmacy told me that Gilead will give me a coupon for the copay that will only cost me $5.00 and there is not income qualifying.

Happy to hear you got the meds!....Sick and tired of being sick and tired!
